Welcome to Clayton Valley Village

Clayton Valley Village, founded in 2014, is a membership-based, member-driven, 501c3 nonprofit organization of seniors living in Clayton and Concord, California. (See map).

Who we are and what we do!

Committed to helping our members live independently in their own homes as they age, we provide transportation and an array of home-based services for our members through our volunteer network. We also sponsor social and cultural activities to minimize isolation and promote interaction. These are currently offered through our Clayton Valley Village Zoom Channel. As a village member you will strengthen our community both by accepting assistance of our volunteers and by sharing your own interests and expertise with like-minded people. We invite you to explore our website to learn more.

How we are responding to COVID-19

As we cope with a worldwide pandemic and have been told to shelter-in-place to protect ourselves and our loved ones, we find ourselves needing to recalculate how we are going to navigate this new way of communicating and of being in community. Clayton Valley Village has had to cancel all our in-person events for the foreseeable future and has turned to using online tools, as so many others have, to keep in touch with our families, with our friends and with our community. We have also stepped-up to serve our homebound members in a multitude of ways:

Our Monthly Happy Hour

Our Monthly Happy Hour

“The profound effects of loneliness on health and independence are a critical public health problem. It is no longer medically or ethically acceptable to ignore older adults who feel lonely and marginalized.”

~ Dr. Carla M. Perissinoto, a geriatrician at the University of California, San Francisco
